In this rapidly changing world, the not so old saying that the only constant is change rings true particularly with architecture. Many clients are facing unprecedented change as they contemplate new facilities to accommodate new and expanded missions. At CAP we help clients focus energies on how their new and remodeled buildings can best serve those missions, typically bringing a new perspective to bear on the good intentions of design to find unanticipated value in better architecture and urban design. This new perspective typically involves our constant passion for improving the world with everything we do, be it by using better technologies, best practices in production of architectural construction documentation, or using our critical thinking skills to expand the architect / client design team’s boundaries of practice to encompass new strategies that typically bring unexpected, pleasant “a-ha!” moments to bear. This new perspective also brings architecture beyond the traditional three-dimensional process to include the fourth dimension of time and the fifth dimension of economic value to the creative design process. Our focus on architectural design excellence, coupled with sound business practice blends seamlessly with our commitment to provide environmentally responsible, sustainable, healthy, energy-efficient buildings and communities. Our goal is to provide architectural skills to our clients that create beautiful buildings that endure as living, healthy vessels for meaningful human experience. On an urban scale, embracing what is commonly referred to as “new urbanism” we believe that pedestrian oriented town center and mixed-use development that address civic livability issues is paramount in creating safe neighborhoods that also promote an important sense of community. Designing communities that place less reliance on the automobile and where the residents can enjoy a beautiful, walkable, safe place to live, work and play also creates an entitlement setting that provides considerably less risk in getting projects approved and built. |
